Guar is a thermophilic plant valued for its industrial and medicinal, applications. Its high drought tolerance makes it a promising crop for cultivation in the arid and semi-arid regions of Iran. This study aimed to evaluate the growth and yield responses of guar to varying levels of nitrogen and sulfur. To evaluate the growth and yield response of guar to different levels of nitrogen and sulfur, a factorial experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with four nitrogen four nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100, and 150 kg ha-1) from urea fertilizer sources and two sulfur levels (0 and 100 kg ha-1) from bentonite sulfur fertilizer source. The experiment was conducted in the 2024 at the research farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tarbiat Modares University. The results indicated that nitrogen application significantly affected leaf area index, total dry matter, number of pods and seeds per unit area, and grain yield. Among the yield components, the number of seeds per unit area was the most influential, increasing with nitrogen application and contributing to higher grain yield. The grain yield response to nitrogen followed a quadratic pattern. Application of 150 kg ha-1 nitrogen led to excessive vegetative growth, reducing the harvest index (12.15 %) and ultimately decreasing grain yield (1230 kg ha-1). Overall, nitrogen application played a key role in enhancing the productivity of guar. Based on the findings, 100 kg ha-1 of nitrogen is recommended as the optimal rate for maximizing guar yield under similar agroecological conditions.
