Industrial agricultural production without the consumption of inputs cannot meet the food needs of the country's people, and the uneven consumption of inputs has destructive environmental effects. To optimize the consumption of inputs, the most intake inputs must first be identified. In this study, with the aim of recognizing the effective inputs in energy and environmental indicators in grain and sweet corn at Karaj city, the requisite information was collected from the research farm system and farmers' fields in the region, and the results were analyzed based on life cycle assessment and the ReCiPe 2016 method. The results of matching grain and sweet corn cultivation systems showed that the energy input in grain corn was 30029.6 megajoules per hectare and in sweet corn it was 28951.3 megajoules. The energy output of sweet corn (446600 MJ) was about 213 percent higher than that of grain corn (142590 MJ). The energy efficiency index in sweet corn was 0.76 and in grain corn it was 0.32 kg/MJ. Environmentally, grain corn had a higher contribution to air pollution (61.8%) and resource use, while sweet corn, with a higher contribution to water (57%) and soil (67.9%), posed a greater challenge in these sectors. A review of the input consumption showed that chemical fertilizers and diesel fuel had the highest contribution to pollutant emissions. In general, to sustainably increase corn production, based on the results obtained, it is necessary to optimize the use of chemical fertilizers and diesel fuel in order to reduce pollutants.
